Museum of Modern Art
Yesterday for my Critical Reading & Writing class, we headed up to the M.O.M.A to view their Architecture and Design Exhibit that they have going on right now. Many of the items showcased were ones that we all have seen over and over again but still the items never become boring to look at. I was able see something by Paul Rand, a poster he designed for IBM and Le Corbusier of a house he did [pictured in photo collage, house with rectangle windows] - We are studying both Paul Rand and Le Corbusier in my CR&W class...

hi roxy! i saw this recently too....a great exhibition. i love that hanging lamp by rody graumans. did you get to see the exhibition of contemporary work? i really liked the installation by janet cardiff.
i wish my classes required visits to the moma. or i wish i lived in nyc so i could go to the moma just because.
that graumans lamp looks like a lightbulb bouquet, i have mixed feelings about it.
K. cooper what did you think of the hanging tree house that looked like one of those things that boxers punch really fast [it's in the shape of a raindrop]? :) Yeah the lamp is pretty rad I think... especially if it was above a dining table...I could see how you would have mixed feelings about it maria :) but just think, it definitly commands attention, if a person is into that kinda thing :) lol
oh roxy, i so love your posts on your class trips + progresses. i once used to design furniture and le corbusier and charles+ray eames were my heros (the eames folks still are on top of my list). how fun!!!
Thanks Stella for your sweet comment :) Doing my "updates" with school is an easier way to keep my family updated with whats going on...since I can be a flake alot of times and not be in touch with others for quite a bit. :/ BAD ROXY!!! oh and Le Corbusier...that spins circles in my head!!!!!!!!!!! makes me what to grind my teeth...ahahaha lol
