squirrel & snail

Last night was a rip roaring event of stuffed animal making. My friend Annie opted for a oh so cute squirrel (don't know the name yet) and I decided on making a snail. During the whole craft time, Sebastian felt it necessary to pull a little A.D.D on us......we weren't buying it! Nice try little dude :)

How many times do you utter the words "It's here somewhere" ?

Another one of my goals for this year is to SIMPLIFY! Last year I did alot of that with my fabric & trimmings. Now this year, I decided to just tackle everything. So yesterday before work, I headed to Staples and got slipcovers & binders. Then after my favorite show Project Runway, I sat down and organized all of my magazine clippings and put them in a more accessible object. For a split second I was thinking of all the things I could get to fill that space in my now spacious cupboard. - Luckily that was only a split - or even half a split. My goal is to simplify, not liquify and coat every empty area. So after my cupboard is finished onto my NYC size closet. Even though to some it looks like nothing - and it is nothing....I still feel bombarded....and for anyone who is overwhelmed with bombardenment <- is this a word (?) I suggest a snazy self help book titled "It's Here Somewhere" co written by my mother Alice Fulton ( Last name now Osborne) She is a an organizing junkie! http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0898794471

Hello Hello!

For 2005 , one of my goals (not resolutions) was to add a blog to roxymarj.com & that has finally been completed! Yahoo-Ha* I wanted to do this because of all the blogs I look at on a weekly basis that I get LOADS of inspiration from. Also that I'm always doing so many new and old creative things that I wan't to shed light on to hopefully inspire you. I think if it weren't for other talented people out there I wouldn't be nearly as far as where I think I am today! So a little bit about me to get this blog off to a rockin start : 1. I LOVE to read magazines!!! Here are my 4 favorite : SO-EN * ZAKKA catalogue * Vogue * & National Geographic 2. Im always falling in love with japanese artists & a while ago I fell in love with Seiji Fujishiro! His work is AMAZING ...it is actually done in layers and layers of tracing paper. AMAZING 3. Huge passion for drawing & coloring 4. My good friend recently introduced me to the art of stuffed doll/animal making - here is some of our animals that we have made so far.... 5. Last but not least - COLOR - the happier it is the better , especially when it's on your nails! :)
