Good Day Everyone?

From reading everyone's' blogs, im getting soooo excited for Renegade! Also how cool is it that it seems to me so many vendors that will be there are coming from out of state [?] I now wish I would have gotten myself a table :/ Next year though....maybe. Whats been on my mind now for oh a month or so is school tuition and my credit. How is it that we pay our bills on time and yet I can't even get approved for a loan on my own? Im so upset that ive got to get a co-signer....yesterday when I was on the phone with a man from CITIBANK [do not like them!] said that I can't get approved based on my income being too low - not because my credit is bad [?] So frustrating! Yes I can understand if they go by what im making now if I was to pay during school but I wouldn't start paying off my loan till I graduate [4 years] and im pretty positive my income will be higher than what im making now......Plus what's even more frustrating is trying to do all this over the phone or computer! Forget going into pretty much any bank and applying for a student loan there - they have completely taken away any one on one in person conversations having to do with that..... Soon there won't even be humans working at banks, post offices, grocery stores etc. *SCARY* I think that Is another thing to add to my "To-Do" list when I make a substantial amount of money in the future....Open banks across the country where everything has to be done inside the bank! Sure I love technology but remember it doesn't have any feelings :( Like all the live journal bloggers who can post a "mood face" and since blogger doesn't have that, well mine is depressed!!!!!

gettin down with my batik

So I just finished my dress tonight right after watching Tommy Hilfigers's new show "The Cut" which quite honestly didn't cut it for Hiro and I! It pretty much looks like a knock off of the Apprentice but "fashion designer" wise...but really you don't need to be a designer to compete to be a designer under him (?) really confusing....you'll have to see it to understand I guess..... So anyways with the batik fabric that I got while I was in Utah, I made a very cute summer dress for myself out of it [unfortunately my chest doesn't quite fill it - for some reason I keep thinking im a 34 bust but without fail im getting a big bright flashing neon sign that says "DENIED DENIED"! :) ahah lol oh well... regardless im loving the dress and am going to make more of them in the same pattern but with different fabric...the rest of the batik is going to headbands and tiny purses...oh also I forgot to mention a couple months ago but I finally have professional labels now! Roxy Marj is movin on up! :) xo roxy*

survey

To all fashion designers, crafters, creators etc. I have a question for you all. My husband and I are in the midst of getting one of my bags mass produced. Since he is doing the business side of it, he has suggested to have a focus group for the bag before we go and have it made so we can know what people out there like/dislike about the bag. I however being more a designer than a business person don't agree with this idea when it comes to fashion. I feel like if we did have a focus group then that would completely contradict what a fashion designer does.... is this just me or do I have tunnel vision because im starting to feel completely crazy at this point. :(

Life back on track

Well I got back to NYC this morning.......SO GOOD TO BE HOME!!! Had my monthly magazines waiting for my arrival on the coffee table - got loads of inspiration from them today.... I brought back a suitcase full of fabric, and that is only 1/3 of what I was given from my friends mom! So im going to get crackin on some new pieces & need to look for some eclectic boutiques to sell my items --- even though school is 3 months away I feel like it's major crunch time now to get my work out there before I take a 4 year hiatus (?)

Reporting from Utah

Still here in Utah - Was up in Salt Lake City yesterday and the day before, my older sister and I were at Joanns fabrics...all I have to say about them is RIP OFF! their fabric was all from 5.99 and up for 45" width (im use to NYC prices of $3-4 for 60") I did however find some awesome batik fabric that I had to get - can't wait to get back to New York and start making some cute lil purses with it. Our new puppy Stella is almost 3 months old (end of next week) She is a spunky lil girl who loves to cuddle or maybe this is because she is still a puppy :) anyhoo can't wait to bring her home to meet the boys.
