Homework from my Concepts class

My first homework assignment in my Concepts class was to do a shopping report on swimwear or lingerie. I chose to do mine on Roxy/ Quicksilver. You have to pick 4-5 pieces from their spring/summer collection and do detail drawings of them which then should include the price range, type of fabrics used, sizes, who the customer is etc. This assignment took me FOREVER, but it was a lot of fun doing it since drawing was involved! Second assignment was to create 3 mood boards, a personal one of one's own style, and then two others with different inspirations for a swimwear collection that we would design. [I forgot to put up my personal one, another time] for the two collections I thought of blue collar workers and then upper east side, preppy, country club type folks. I decided to go with the country club since I felt like I had more resources when it comes to the trimmings since I knew exactly what I wanted to add. The Bluecollar will have to be for another time... So then we have to do 20-30 croquis in our sketch book, all painted in gouache [which I absolutely LOVE now, I feel like such a dork for complaining about the gouache earlier <- sorry gouache!] Plus closeup details of hardware, buttons, stitching etc. I will only show you my swatch board and two swimsuits that I liked the least just because of plagiarism issues. That assignment took me 18 hours to do because im utterly horrible at drawing the fashion figure! :/ Now from that assignment we have to pick our best 5-7 pieces and redo them [which is called finishes] on Parsons paper. p.s. for our collections we weren't allowed to do any patterns so that is why the swimwear is pretty plain.

Wow Roxy! That does look like a TON of work. But, it looks like you are handling it wonderfully and managing to put your stamp on it ;) I just emailed your blog to my BF so he can scope out your boards!

Hi Roxy - it sounds like a lot of work. But better be overwhelmed than bored, no? It looks great.

Hey Amy! - Oh I hope Chuck is still enjoying school so far, how did his mood board end up coming out?

Thanks Crustation :) Now that I realize that I don't have to outline everything in pencil, it can look a whole lot better, this week our shopping report is for day dresses, which should be better to work on :)

Hey Sophia! Oh im so glad you like my coloring book!! It is fun to look through, it makes me giggle every time....Oh what schools are you thinking of applying to?

Howdy Marieke, tis true about being overwhelmed than bored, the first part of our recent summer I was really bored [too much time on my hands] and it made me appreciate working so much more ~ truely!

Matthew Matthew!!! Whats up BRO! Well im more than happy to post about school!! :) lol plus it keeps me from talking about it with everyone so much, because im sure it can get quite annoying, however I feel like that's all I talk about - Oh you like that bag! Isn't it perfect for her? I kinda actually designed it with her in mind when I was thinking about who would use it, and I knew Stella would for sure! :) lol
