There's Always Another Pose!!!! - Richard Rosenfeld

The title of my entry is a line that my fashion drawing teacher Richard ALWAYS says nonstop! I wish I could tape record his voice for you all to hear, it is very memorable.... let me just put it that way! This weeks homework that was due for my concepts class was to pick 5-7 pieces from our swimwear collection we designed and then "finish" them [meaning make them look TOP NOTCH!] So the top two pics are my finishes, big improvement huh ~ thanks to the help from one of my old fashion drawing books.... the bottom left picture is for fashion drawing tomorrow, we had to paint an outfit/dress from shade to tint and vice versa, I really like the models pose, oh and the dress she [Giselle] is wearing is BEE-YOU-TEE-FULL!!! Ill try and remember to post it this weekend perhaps. And then the bottom right picture is what went with my fashion history report that I ended up doing totally wrong! I feel like im always missing the boat on stuff, I know right now is a very stressful time for me, and then also being out of school for so long, sometimes it really does feel like an old fart! And I HATE HATE HATE thinking that because im only 25 and mentally I feel 19! GAH!!!! Fist shaking in the air *shake, shake* ~ Then there is the whole writing thing, for those who know me well, know that I constantly struggle with it! Grammar & sentence structure are my adversaries...they are out to get me! And how is it that my mom is an excellent writer, and I didn't get a single ounce of knowledge in that area? But I do realize that I myself cannot be great at everything, best to be really good at something [like fashion design] than a little good in a lot of things, however I bet Martha Stewart would argue differently. :/

gah something happened and my comment got deleted (by myself apparently).

i was saying how beautiful these are!!
your drawings and that giselle silhouette drawing with the tiered dress!! ♥

these seem different than your personal drawings that i so LOVE, but they're really great.
i was thinking how i had to "learn" how to draw the industrial design way when i was in school - like the industry has a way to draw things, in its own way,
so it was like having to learn a new visual language.
i guess it's like that with you, a little... i love them!

sorry for rambling - wondering how you are. :)

Hey life size Stella! :) lol I just put a post about wee little stella and I don't want people to get confused... Well that drawing of gisella was done using tracing paper, and I just found out tonight from Richard [my teacher] that I was not supposed to do that... :/ again feeling like the worlds biggest retard, I swear ive struck out three times so far!

You know what Stella.... I totally miss drawing my usual way!!!! Last week I was thinking about it and it kinda bummed me out, and then I started imagining myself loosing my own personal style, whatever that may be, but you know what I mean...... Hopefully I can keep the two seperated. I can't imagine what it was like for you though with industrial design. Id wanna put faces on everything if I was doing that!!! EEk <-- that is me falling down a tunnel into the pits of despair, pit of fashion drawing that is......

anyways.........but im doing okay, i wanna get together and have lunch/dinner sometime soon - miss you! :)

p.s. how do you make filled in hearts?

you're so funny - it's not like people are going to think the little doggy started typing out words. heheheh

i know what you mean!! when i was in school i totally lost all my own style of drawing... which is why i struggled so much when i started drawing again...
i don't know if you remember me talking about it.
i felt total loss of personality. but i'm sure if anyone can fuse the two together, it'll be you!
i'm sure you'll find a way to put more of your own personality into your fashion work... just with time.
i still love them either way. :)

and yes, let's get together!
we had ladies' night last night with the girls, we all wished you were there... let me know if you have a wee bit of free time!! :D

xoxo

ps: if you just type out & hearts ; (just take the spaces out when you do), it'll make a nice little ♥ :)
