Yesterday Grace form designsponge.blogspot.com posted a picture of this piggybank! I almost fell over in my chair! When I lived in Kennewick, Wa my grandma lived in the town right next to us [Richland] and when I was either 5 or 6 she gave me that exact piggy bank!!! I actually remember riding home in the car, sitting on my mom's lap in the front seat to be precise [oh those were the days that Britney Spears and I could reminisce about!] :) anyways I remember the texture, thickness, I mean EVERYTHING of that little bank... and then It took me probably only 6 months or so to fill it to the top, and then what did I go and do... I ate about 4-5 of my older sisters candy bars that she was selling for school. I was hiding under the bed when she came home with major chocolate breath....anyways she made me pay for them with my own money, but since the bank was soo full and none of the change would come out, we ended up having to break it up. And that was the last that I saw of that bank, I didn't even have it for a full year....... and since then, ive thought about that bank atleast once a year! But now this super cute online boutique Canoe has it, and it is only $6!!!! So that will be an early Christmas present to myself this year! :) Especially since I will be moving out of my apartment in 2 months, now is the time to be saving. Im actually looking forward to moving just because it will force me to get rid of anything I don't need, use, or want anymore. Too much stuff keeps me busy on maintaining that stuff!!! I feel like ive got sooo many things around me that it is only a hindrance to everything I love to be working on. Meaning ive got so much more to clean and take care of, organize etc... I guess the one thing that a person could never have too much of is music and books....am I missing anything? :) Wow this post is becoming much longer than expected.... I also wanted to put out there, about apartment situations...I know it is still far off, but if anyone knows of an inexpensive two bedroom available end of December here in NYC could you pass it onto me? I would make anyone the most delicious cake who led me onto something....perhaps that isn't too good of an incentive..... okay ill throw in some bling as well! :)

oh roxy! that is such a cool story, don't you love reclaming toys and things from youth :)!
i wish i had a place that i knew of...we're going to be looking for one soon too! but no one will speak english! ahhh! :)*
and amen about less things, it's been awesome to pare down to just a few suitcases...its amazing what i can be happy living without for a while...:)
Aren't you missing something? A person can never have enough art supplies. I completely relate to it being hard to be productive when you have too much stuff, but what happens when the mess is comprised of too many art supplies? It is a dilemna I deal with daily.
That piggy bank is really cute, how could one break such a thing? Thanks for sharing the sweet story and hope you find a new apartment soon and be able to de-clutter your new life. Take care.
Jenny! I just found out a couple weeks ago about your move, when reading your blog! I couldn't find out where you guys had moved to and why, im going to your blog right now to ask! :) lol
Oh robyn you are SOOO RIGHT! Yes, that is something that I actually do have a ton of, especially craft tools, oddly enough. Thanks for reminding me! :)
Hey Crust [can I call you that for short?] :) lol I know she wasn't trying to hurt me or anything, she was in Junior high, and at the time I was probably on her uncool list :)
Yeah this apartment thing should be interesting, especially now since I know how not to get tricked by people out here. HA! Knock on wood!!!
Well I moved to Greenpoint, Brooklyn about two months ago and absolutely love it. It has been smooth sailing and it really isn't expensive plus you will be in safe neighborhood with tons of young likeminded people.
Also I like your little piggy bank story. It is funny the things you remember and take away with you in childhood.
oh how sweet, roxy!!!
this totally reminds me of when i first read your blog a looong time ago and you posted about children's books - one of them being "caps for sale", which i had completely forgotten about, but was my favorite book as a kid (like 3-4 yrs. old?).
then later, matthew got me the book for my birthday one year. :D hehehe
