Matilda Goad's kitchen is beautifully quirky and the checkered tile surrounding the stove are the candles on the cake. Major cozy home magic here.

Some of my favorite elements aside from the check tile.

  1. The floral lamp with woven rattan (?) shade

  2. Tiny piece of framed art above the kitchen sink

  3. Green cabinets

  4. Tall white scalloped shelf that also camouflages the radiator.

  5. Large banquette - I love bringing restaurant style aesthetics into the kitchen/dining area.

I just spent the last hour writing a blog post that has since been deleted. Last night I printed out a "One Thing a Day" tracker to help me reach some of my creative goals for 2024. One of them is getting back to blogging.

What has kept me from blogging for many years is this idea that I have to have something amazing everyday to blog about. I don't know why I believed that thought: i.e. LIE. but I did... Luckily, humans can quickly self correct. PRAISE GOD.

So I deleted that long blog post because I realized I wa setting a standard for myself that would inevitably keep me from achieving my goal of blogging every day.

For anyone out there reading this, all I have to share tonight is a snapshot of my moodboard, and I think that's good enough. HA!

Also its a good description of where I am at right now at 42 years of age: Jesus, family, peace, slowing down, angels, nature, mini donkeys, surface design, my 5 year old self that I want to give the biggest hug to and say "I'm so proud of you!" and some good old fashioned brick n' mortar shop inspiration for when I open a children's shop someday.
